Having been created as a division of Erich Christopher Designs, LLC (a family owned and operated fine art jewelry company), our pet tags are held to the same high standards of our fine 18K gold jewelry.
As such, we are the only fine jewelry company offering such enduring quality at such an affordable price. All of our tags (with the exception of the aluminum ones), charms, and jewelry are our own in-house designs and not available anywhere else! In the Fall of 2011, we acquired the highest-quality engraving equipment in the jewelry industry and expanded our pet tag line to include both stainless steel and brass as well as economical aluminum tags. Since we are a company founded on high-end jewelry designed to last a lifetime, when it comes to quality and durability, we are unmatched in the pet tag world.
Something to consider: What company would you trust more? A random pet tag company that just engraves tags they've imported from a wholesale company and doesn't understand metalwork and/or what it takes to create a durable product? Or would you trust a company whose reputation is built upon the creation and production of high-quality, 18K fine jewelry coupled with exceptional customer service; a company that understands what it takes to manufacture a quality product and ensure our customer's happiness?

We use a highly-specialized engraving system developed exclusively for the jewelry industry. Consequently, our engraving is not only more beautiful, but will last far longer than that by any other company and is vastly superior to any other system on the market. To our knowledge, we are also the only company using such specialized equipment. Whereas most tags are merely “marked” or "scratched" on the surface, our system actually removes the metal, creating a clean, deep engraving that is easy to read and more durable than pretty much any other tag company can produce. The bottom line is that we believe no company can match our combination of quality, durability, and price.
Please note that as of Spring 2014, we have changed our engraving for our aluminum tags. Since aluminum tags do not make for good long-term ID tags due to the soft nature of the metal, we have opted to only lightly engrave these tags in order to dramatically decrease their cost.
Sterling Silver Tags
Our sterling silver pet tags are our in-house designs and available exclusively at The Sterling Pet. They are held to the same quality standards as our jewelry and are on par with the finest sterling silver jewelry produced by any of the great jewelry houses. The tags are made of solid .925 sterling silver and come with a sterling silver key ring that will attach to the D-ring of any collar. It should be noted that sterling silver does not make for a highly durable tag. Most of our customers purchase these as "dress-tags" or "going-out-on-the-town-tags". They also make GREAT show tags! For these reasons, each purchase of a sterling silver pet tag comes with a FREE matching Titanium Edition tag for every-day wear complete with our LIFETIME Guarantee!
*Please note that our silver fish and fire hydrant tags do not have a corresponding titanium tag. Therefore, customers will be provided with a round Titanium Edition tag with matching information.

We take great pride in the quality of our work and, as such, you can be sure that our gold and sterling silver Jewelry for Pet Lovers is held to very high standards. Tungsten Carbide Tags
We were the first (and still about the only) company to introduce titanium pet tags to the market to offer the material’s remarkable durability to pet owners. Once again, we have created another first: Tungsten Carbide tags. Tungsten Carbide is an extraordinarily hard metal alloy which is amazingly scratch-resistant. In fact, it is so hard that only a few naturally occurring minerals can even scratch it; corundum (ruby/sapphire) and diamond. That means that our exotic tungsten carbide pet tags will hold their polished-finish vastly longer than any other pet tag made. . .guaranteed. To give you an idea, these solid tungsten carbide tags are over 5 times harder than the toughest stainless steel! Tungsten Carbide pet ID tags are perfect for hunting dogs, highly active pets, pet's that live near saltwater, or for owners simply looking for an ultra-cool way to ID their pet! Our tungsten tags do not corrode, rust, or stain and are also hypoallergenic. It should be noted that we only lightly engrave these tags for the simple reason that nothing deeper is necessary and it helps keep their cost down since these tag cost much more to manufacturer than our others. Once your tungsten carbide tag is engraved, the engraving will last for more than a lifetime! For more information regarding our engraving process, please see the above section titled "ENGRAVING". When it comes to quality and durability, our Tungsten Carbide tags are unequaled by any other tag made!
Please note that as of December 2014, we have discontinued our lifetime guarantee on these tags. Tungsten tags are so expensive to produce that we thought that, rather than charge an arm and a leg for them, we'd offer them for just a bit above our cost but discontinue their warranty. This way, more people can try out the amazing qualities of our tungsten tags without having to pay so much for it. We will naturally continue to honor the warranty for all tungsten tags purchased before Dec. 1, 2014.
Brass & Stainless Steel Tags
Our inexpensive brass and stainless steel tags are based on our Titanium Tag designs and are consequently engineered to outlast all other brass and stainless steel tags on the market while maintaining a price below all inferior "cheap" tags. In fact, there really aren't many, if any, other options for tags that are more inexpensive than ours. Plus, we use a different alloy of stainless steel that is much more durable than standard stainless steel alloys usually found in other pet tags. If that wasn't enough, unlike most companies that just lightly mark the tag, we use state-of-the-art engraving equipment developed exclusively for the jewelry industry. We are so confident in the quality of our tags that we now guarantee our stainless steel and brass tags for the LIFETIME of your pet! If your tag ever breaks, becomes unreadable, or simply gets lost, we'll replace FREE. You just pay the shipping to get the tag to your door and that's it. . . for LIFE! Since even the jumpring that attaches the keyring to the tag is hand-soldered shut, you can rest easy knowing you are dealing with a quality product. Brass tags are finished with a bright polish and our stainless steel tags come with a cool satin finish. For more information regarding our engraving process, please see the above section titled "ENGRAVING".
*Please note that we DO NOT recommend brass tags for light-colored pets. Over time, brass can stain their lighter fur and coatings or special treatments to prevent this eventually wear off. Therefore we recommend any of our other tags for your lighter-colored furry friends to ensure their coat continues looking fantastic!
The Aluminum tags we offer are inexpensive, economical tags for those seeking a simple, easy-to-read form of identification. Like all aluminum ID tags, the aluminum is anodized to create different colors. Most pet tag companies won't tell you this, but it means that the color is only on the surface and, over time with lots of use, color may eventually wear-off. We want you to be aware of this so there are no surprises down the road. In the past, we had created a deep, quality engraving that will outlast all others using out state-of-the-art equipment designed for the jewelry industry. Unfortunately, aluminum tags simply aren't durable enough to merit the extra attention and time. We have therefore changed our engraving style for these tags to a quicker and lighter marking style. This means that the engraving will not be as durable as it was in the past, but on the flipside, we can offer the tags for much less than before. The reality is that aluminum tags simply do not make for good long-term IDs, but are great if you just need something cheap to get you by. For more information regarding our engraving process, please see the above section titled "ENGRAVING".
